Is the recent price increase affecting Mounjaro stock?

Due to recent and steep price increases Eli-lily have imposed on the UK market a lot of people have been trying to stock up, causing strains on the logistics network. The price increases are a consequence of the United States government putting pressure on American pharmaceutical companies to bring global prices more in line with their own and seem to be in the range of 30%-170% increasing with dose strength.

The UK was the cheapest country in the world for Mounjaro. As such, I would not be surprised if more price increases occur in 2026 because even with these new prices the UK is still considerably cheaper than the US market.

We reached out to Eli-lily who said they have enough stock to withstand the short burst in demand, it seems that their distribution partners were informed at the same time as everyone. As such, they could not plan and were not ready for pharmacies panic buying.

I would expect the medication to dip in and out of stock until September 1st when the prices take affect as there are enough units in the UK to support demand.

Why do you have to increase the Mounjaro dose?
